Before and after: a sunken garage slab with a two-inch drop, lifted back to level with polyurethane foam by SureStep LLC
Real SureStep work: this garage slab had dropped 2 inches — we lifted it back to level the same day.

Why foam beats mudjacking

3 lbs
Our polyurethane foam
per cubic foot
100+ lbs
Old mudjacking slurry
per cubic foot

Our foam fuses with the loose soil underneath and creates actual structure — no 2-inch-plus craters. Our 5/8-inch holes are your best shot at the least visible repair — how much they show depends on your concrete's color and age, but they'll never look like mudjacking craters — it lifts your concrete without weighing it down. Installed by our own crew, not a subcontractor.

What we do

Concrete repair without the tear-out

Most sunken concrete doesn't need to be replaced — it needs to be lifted. We inject high-density foam deep beneath the slab to raise and stabilize it, at a fraction of the cost and mess of new concrete.

Level first, coat second.

A beautiful epoxy floor can’t fix a sunken slab — it just follows the dips and holds water where the concrete settled. That’s why leveling and epoxy go hand in hand.

We lift the slab first with polyurethane foam, then coat it. Not every floor needs it, but most benefit — and with one crew doing both under one roof, there’s no juggling two contractors.

One call. One crew. One floor, done right.

The method matters

Why polyurethane beats mudjacking

Mudjacking pumps heavy cement slurry under your slab through 2.5″ holes. We inject expanding polyurethane foam through holes the size of a dime. One picture tells the story:

Side-by-side comparison: a 5/8 inch polyurethane injection hole versus a 2.5-inch mudjacking hole in concrete

Actual-size comparison: polyurethane vs. mudjacking injection holes.

  • Tiny, nearly invisible holes. ⅝″ injection holes are patched and barely noticeable. Mudjacking holes are 2.5″ and stay visible.
  • Lightweight. Cured foam weighs ounces per cubic foot — ideal for weak soils. Mud slurry is heavy and can cause resettling on soft ground.
  • Precise, controlled lift. The foam expands and lifts the slab evenly with millimeter-level control.
  • Waterproof. Cured polyurethane won't break down, wash out, or erode when water gets under your slab.
  • Fast. Most residential jobs are finished in a few hours, and the concrete is usable the same day.

How it works

A lift, start to finish, in one visit

Deep foamjection puts foam-supported soil where the ground failed — then lifts the slab on top of it. No demolition, no waiting weeks on new concrete.

Four-step diagram of Deep Foamjection: 1) install foam deep, 2) remove point, 3) subsurface lift through the slab, 4) patch the holes

Seawalls & waterfront

Seawall voids are a hidden problem — until they aren't

Water washes soil out from behind seawalls, leaving voids that can collapse suddenly. We inject waterproof foam into those gaps to fill the void and lock the soil in place — no excavation, no new wall.

Before and after cross-section: eroded void behind a seawall, then the same wall with the void filled by expanding foam

Service area

Serving Southeast Wisconsin

Based in Wisconsin's lake country region, we cover the greater Milwaukee metro and the surrounding counties — residential, commercial, and municipal work.

💡 Did you know?

Wisconsin courts have ruled there's no magic number of inches that makes a sidewalk “safe.” If a guest trips on your uneven walk and gets hurt, the property owner can end up paying the medical bills — the only test is whether it was reasonably safe.

And your front steps? State code (SPS 321.04) says no riser over 8 inches, and every step has to match — one surprise tall (or stubby) step is a fall waiting to happen.

And if your driveway or patio has settled toward the house? Every storm funnels water straight at your foundation — pressure builds, cracks open, and the basement gets the memo. A little seepage today becomes a $2,000–$7,000 waterproofing job tomorrow… or a $15,000+ foundation repair if you wait. (Your homeowner's insurance probably won't cover a dime of it.)

Level concrete isn't just pretty. It's cheaper than a courtroom — and a whole lot cheaper than a new foundation. (We're concrete lifters, not lawyers — but we've seen the invoices.)

Common questions

Before you ask

How much does concrete lifting cost?

It depends on the size of the area, how far the slabs have settled, and what's going on in the soil underneath. Lifting almost always costs far less than tearing out and replacing concrete. Send us photos — or request a visit — and we'll measure and give you a straightforward, no-pressure number.

How long does the work take?

Most residential jobs are finished in a few hours, and the concrete is ready to use the same day. Larger or commercial projects are usually done in one visit as well.

Will I see the injection holes afterward?

Barely. Holes are only about ⅝″ wide and get patched on the spot. Compared with 2″+ mudjacking holes, the result is much cleaner.

Do you work with businesses and contractors?

Yes. We handle commercial concrete lifting — warehouse floors, retail and office entries, municipal sidewalks, and ADA trip-hazard corrections — plus property managers, GCs, and HOAs.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes — every SureStep job is backed by our 5-year warranty.*
